Program Terms
Last updated October 13, 2026
This page describes the program details currently confirmed. The calendar dates and full award schedule have not yet been published. Second- and third-place credit amounts and detailed travel benefits remain unannounced. This page is not a complete award schedule, and applying does not mean accepting conditions that have not been disclosed.
About the program
The First 1,000 is a six-week building competition from Zero Email, Inc., the company behind Keiki, and Maritime AI, Inc. We want to help individual builders and teams create something useful and reach 1,000 genuine users.
Who can take part
Individuals and teams are welcome. The program is intended for builders worldwide, subject to applicable law and the availability and requirements of the platforms used. We do not add a separate program minimum age on this page. Existing platform requirements still apply, including any age or parent/guardian requirements. This page does not create an exception to those requirements.
Applications and timing
Applications opened October 13, 2026. Initial applicants are to receive a confirmation email by the end of that week. The competition uses one common six-week window. You may join while it is running, but joining later does not extend the common deadline.
The closing time is 11:59 p.m. Pacific. The calendar start and end dates are not yet published; do not infer them from the application date.
Real signups and fair results
The target is 1,000 genuine signups for your project. We will review project-level usage on Keiki or Maritime to help check that progress represents real participation. This is a legitimacy check, not a separate numerical retention or activity target for every signup.
Fake accounts, bots, duplicate identities used to inflate a count, and fabricated activity do not qualify. Suspicious metrics can lead to review and, where manipulation or invalid activity is established, correction of a count or disqualification. A red flag alone does not establish wrongdoing. If you think a result is mistaken, contact either organizer below with the relevant evidence.
The first three projects to reach the target, subject to verification, are the winning projects. The detailed signup-counting and tie procedures have not yet been published; this page does not introduce additional undisclosed thresholds.
Credits, access, and San Francisco
The advertised AI-credit benefit is up to $20,000 per winning project, not per team member. This does not mean all three winners receive $20,000. Second- and third-place amounts, credit-provider conditions, and expiry details remain unannounced.
The program includes free Keiki and Maritime access. The duration and scope of that access have not yet been published; this page does not promise unlimited or permanent access, or coverage of every third-party charge. Separately selected paid services remain subject to the relevant provider’s billing terms.
The advertised San Francisco experience is three days for the first three winning projects. Sponsored flights are limited to people in the United States. The precise flight-eligibility criterion, number of travelers per project, covered expenses, dates, and arrangements for international winners have not yet been published. Do not assume that flights, hotels, meals, companions, or other expenses are all included.
Travelers must satisfy the requirements for their itinerary. A prize does not guarantee a visa or admission. Taxes and reporting obligations may apply to awards. Please do not make nonrefundable travel arrangements based only on this page.
Your project and platform use
Be accurate about your project and progress, respect other participants, and follow the rules of the services you use. You remain responsible for your project, its content, and its interactions with users. Participation does not by itself transfer ownership of your project to either organizer.
Each provider’s existing agreements continue to apply to its own service within their existing scope. You can read Maritime’s Terms of Service. This page does not replace either platform’s service agreement or extend a platform-specific liability or dispute provision to the joint competition.
Privacy and your rights
Read Keiki’s Privacy Policy and Maritime’s Privacy Policy for information about their platform data practices. This page does not grant a blanket right to share private customer information, use your image or testimonials in unrelated marketing, or subscribe you to unrelated promotional messages.
Nothing on this page limits rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be limited. It does not create a blanket release of either organizer’s responsibility.
